SCF Student Membership Package Launch

SCF will be launching our new Student Membership and Mentoring program in partnership with the WA College of Agriculture, Denmark on Friday May  11.

SCF is proud to support the youth and the future of our industry by providing better links between farmers and agricultural students. SCF CEO, Christine Kershaw, will be launching the program at the College on Friday May 4 from 1:20pm, to College students and staff.

The program includes a membership package enabling the students to learn about SCF, our members and agricultural research through our newsletter, Trials Review booklet and targeted presentations and demonstrations by SCF staff and sponsors in the Agricultural Industry.  It is hoped the initiative will create more connections between farmers and agriculture students and will hopefully lead to more young people considering a career in the agricultural industry.

Future plans include extending the Student Membership to other local schools with an Agriculture focus and conducting on-farm trials and demonstrations with the students.  Students will also have the opportunity to take part in work experience placement at the SCF office, and later with interested SCF members.

If you would like to know more about this exciting new partnership or wish to become involved in the Student Mentoring Program in the future, please get in touch with Kathi McDonald at the SCF office on 0408 418 531 or kathi.mcdonald@scfarmers.org.au.
