TO DISCUSS THE ESTABLISHMENT OF A FARMERS’ CO-OPERATIVE
Farmers across the Great Southern region are invited to attend farmer forums to talk about the establishment of a farmer-owned grains/sheep co-operative and share ideas about how a co-operative can benefit farmers across the region.
Speakers to present on the following topics:
- Value adding opportunities for farmers in the Great Southern
- Farmer’s perspective: insights and challenges of getting organised as a community, what are other farmers doing?
- What sort of co-operative: what would it look like, who owns it and how can we make sure farmers get the benefits?
A facilitated discussion will follow each presentation to further explore
the concept of establishing a farmer co-operative in our region.
Each forum is free to attend, is for farmers only and includes refreshments.
