Hosted by Stirlings to Coast Farmers (SCF), this workshop will help growers determine if, where and how they profitably and practically ameliorate variable soils with variable constraints.

Done correctly, soil amelioration significantly boosts yield and profit, however when implemented incorrectly it can do a large amount of damage to soils over the long term.

While some soil constraints are easier to understand and to implement the required amelioration on, variability across paddocks and farms makes the decision on how and where to ameliorate more difficult.

Choosing the optimum amelioration option for every constraint within a paddock with variable soils can seem difficult or impossible. Often it is a case of choosing the best compromise, based on knowledge of constraints, input and operation options, costs and likely yield uplifts.
