The MUSTER Project is being delivered by Stirlings to Coast Farmers (SCF) through funding from the Australian Government’s Live Export Transition Assistance Package and the Grower Group Alliance (GGA).

Designed to support sheep producers through industry change, the project will provide practical, locally relevant information to help farming businesses strengthen livestock enterprises, improve resilience and identify future opportunities.

Producer Working Groups

Sheep producers from across the lower Great Southern will have the opportunity to participate in producer-led working groups over a two-year period.

Through a series of workshops and industry engagement activities, participants will explore topics such as animal health, reproduction, pasture utilisation, genetics, processing requirements and future market opportunities. Topics will be guided by producers to ensure discussions remain practical and relevant.

Pasture Demonstration Site

A new pasture demonstration site has been established in Denbarker to investigate options for addressing feed gaps from autumn through to early summer.

The trial will compare a range of pasture systems against conventional subclover and annual ryegrass, assessing pasture quality, biomass production and cost effectiveness. The site complements SCF’s existing pasture demonstration in Kalgan, providing insights across different soil types and growing conditions.
