Building Social Resilience (FRRR)
Stirlings to Coast Farmers was successful in obtaining funding to focus on social and financial resilience, and mental and physical health of local farmers and industry. The project is funded through the Federal Government’s ‘Future Drought Fund’ and is being administered by the Foundations for Rural Regional Renewal.
The project has so far enabled SCF to hold some great, family friendly events that include access to experts in the areas of social, financial, mental & physical health, including providing support for our Community BBQs held in July 2024 to enable us to bring our members a well-rounded program to maintain their financial, physical and mental wellbeing. Another part of this project has been our partnership with Louise O-Neill of Farm Life Fitness. Louise has presented at our Trials Review Day, Community BBQs, and Spring Field Day, on the benefits of keeping physically fit and active and has offered free access to her online fitness programs to SCF members and their families and staff.
The project also provided funding for our very own community bbq trailer – a fantastic resource for SCF and community events. The BBQ trailer is also available to the SCF community to hire for local events, supporting a sense of community and connection.
